Meet My City Monday: Moab Delicate Arch Hike Featuring Modest Workout Clothing!

img_4572

Hello and Happy Monday!! This month of August has already been go, go, go!

Thank you ALL for immense amount of support on my snapchat, Instagram stories, Facebook and of course my blog! You are all so wonderful to me and I just want to again thank you for it!

img_5265

If you follow me on this “new” platform that Instagram released, “Instagram stories” *ahem Snapchat knockoff* you were able Β to see in real time this amazing infamous hike, the delicate arch hike in Moab Utah! I mean there is a reason why this is on our state’s license plates!

img_6193img_6248-1

Me directly under the delicate arch wearing my ModSwim black and white wrap workout dress!Β img_6239

img_5197img_5195

The delicate arch just around this bend! The most rewarding sight we did see!

We woke up really early in the morning (4:30am to be exact) to be able to watch as the sun was rising over the entire canyon!Β img_5173

Ta Da! There she is! It was a relatively short hike, however it is uphill all the way and is categorized as “strenuous” hike on the map.

img_6192img_6190img_5250

Definitely worth the early morning rise, since there was a small amount of people on the trail which gave us the opportunity to Β enjoy the scenery all on our own!

Silly faces with my brother πŸ˜‰

img_5261

img_5259

img_6198

Now what did I wear to this hiking trip you may ask?

I sported my favorite modest activewear dress, that’s right I said DRESS from ModSwim!Β

You guys I’ll be completely honest with you when I first heard of “modest fitness wear” I was very skeptical as to the overall aesthetic of it. Like, would it look like a potato sack dress from Little House on the Prairie? (Nothing against Little House love that show, but I certainly wouldn’t want to wear their 1800’s fashion ! lol)

\img_5349

I adore this modest workout dress from Mod Swim because it has a gorgeous, flattering wrap style cut, it is made out of breathable fabric, and love that I can go running, biking, jumping, and even swimming in this fab dress!

So say goodbye to your basketball shorts and oversized tee shirt ladies and get ready for a more feminine solution to modest workout clothing!

img_5365

So now I’m about to get real with y’all and since we are all women and have our struggles with our image, I’m sure most of you ladies can relate to what I am about to say!

During my freshman college year I gained the most amount of weight I had ever gained in my life before! They really weren’t kidding about the whole “Freshman 15” thing that’s Β for sure!

The over processed food, the all nighters that were pulled for a test the next day, stress, and just flat out not exercising were all causing my rapid weight gain!

I jumped from a size 2 to a size 6! Thankfully I can now again wear my beloved size small midi skirts and fit in my size 2 dresses! Hooray!

img_5368

I knew it had to be stopped before it got out of my control! So I am not in any way, shape or form a fitness expert nor am I anywhere near of where I would like to be, but I will more than gladly share what helped me lose 12 pounds in 2 months!

Since I hear about it all the time at West Coast how the guys have to alliterate their Β sermons, I thought I’d give it a go for this blog post! So without further ado, here are the three W’s to my weightloss!

Tip #1: Water!

img_5316-1

Now I know what you’re thinking, and yes it is an obvious tip, but hear me out, studies show that more than 70% of Americans do not drink the sufficient amount of water each day! So what I have found helpful is setting reminder throughout the day to drink water! It is mind blowing how a simple pop up reminder on my phone can engrave in my brain that it is time to drink water!

Here is another of my favorite apps to track how much water I have drank! It is called “Waterlogged” it tracks all of your daily water intake and then rewards you with either a free audiobook, game, or download for free !

Tip #2: Walking!Β

img_5313

Walking after dinner, walking after I know I splurged on a sweet I shouldn’t have, or just Β walking at the mall has helped me a ton to lose the 12 pounds!

Pacer is an app that I adore because it is a community of regular people who are trying to live a healthier lifestyle who support you by creating and joining groups to walk at least 10,00 steps a day!

You should aim for 10,000 steps a day for weightloss and an overall healthier, active lifestyle!

img_5371

Tip #3: Weighted Jumprope!

img_5373

Hear me out, go to Walmart and buy a weighted jumprope (also known as a boxing jumprope) and jumprope for 15 minutes a day to burn 150 calories!! Amazing and quick cardio!

That’s right you just need to do it 15 minutes a day to burn that many calories! It’s awesome, and you will break a sweat!

P.S. Do not get discouraged if you cannot jump rope the entire 15 minutes in one go, trust me it’s harder than it sounds! Start out by dividing the 15 minutes into 3 five minute segments and work your way up!

I absolutely loved shooting at East High School, a school you may recognize as part of the set of High School Musical!

I hope you guys didn’t mind this uber long post and if you find these tips helpful let me know!

As always God bless and I will see you in the next post!

xoxo,

Ashley Amber

How to Style a Tulle Skirt: Plaid & Tulle! Featuring Taralynns BoutiqueπŸπŸƒπŸ‚βœ¨πŸ‚πŸƒπŸβœ¨πŸ‚πŸƒπŸβœ¨πŸ‚πŸƒπŸ

Hello and Happy Sunday!!πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ I hope you all had a wonderful church service! Sunday mornings are always the best because I get to squeeze in a little bit more sleep! And by sleeping in I mean like sleeping in til 6:00am LOL

So today’s outfit was actually planned yesterday afternoon when I received this adorable package in my mailbox from Taralynn’s Boutique ! (SO EXCITING!😍😍😍😍) I opened up the package (like a gorilla btw😁) and saw the most amazing white tulle skirt ever!!

It’s like a white fluffy cloud of cuteness!!😍☁️ (according to my roommate it looks like a fluffy white cloud lol!☁️)

I gasped out loud and headed toward my dresser to pair up my new skirt with a plaid shirt!

You guys for ages I have been wanting to recreate this outfit on Pinterest! !It’s actually a fall themed wedding but could be worn for a cute contrasting fall outfit using a tulle skirt!

Fall was clearly on my mind and I decided  on wearing golds, coppers and burnt reds for today’s makeup!

I adore this lip color from Wet N wild which is actually an exact dupe for MAC’s Rebel lipstick! The only difference is the priceπŸ’Έ One is $2 and the other is $14! I bet you can guess which one I like more now πŸ˜‰

For my hair I only spent a max of 10 minutes on it! I just teased the crown of my hair and added one of those hair pieces that look like a scrunchy to add more volume to my low side bun! Hello 90’s trend!)

I love plaid and tulle together because it dresses down the tulle skirt but looks so chic!
Of course you can’t have plaid without pearls!! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

I adore this white tulle skirt! This outfit would be great for Christmas!! I love the fact that this skirt is so stretchy in the waistline so it allows me to eat as much as I want without feeling like I’m going to explode!

LOL

I’ve had many tulle skirts over the past year but this one is probably the better structured one for sure! It keeps its shape all day long and I don’t feel the need to wear an extra tulle skirt underneath for volume!

I could see from the package that the skirt was so fluffy and full of life! Perfect for twirling πŸ˜‰ (admit it you do it too !)

Well that’s all for today’s post!

Gotta head on out and take care of the 3 year olds! Wish me luck! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜Š

God Bless,

Xoxo

πŸ‚πŸŒ»Modest Teal & Leopard Skirt Outfit featuring Jupe De Abby!πŸŒ»πŸ‚

Hello Friends!!

Boy we’re already coming to the weekend!πŸ™ŒπŸ» Seems like yesterday it was just Sunday at church and now it’s time to do it all over once again!!

So I as coming from my classes I went ahead and checked my mail and you won’t believe what arrived!!😱

Just in time for fall!!πŸ‚πŸπŸƒ

This stunning aline leopard ball gown midi skirt! πŸ˜πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ’›

Immediately when I saw it I knew it was going to be on repeat for several  outfit posts!

I couldn’t help but wear it the same week I got it! (No shame in that lol)

Now I realize I could go so many different routes with this skirt but I decided on wearing a teal blouse with gold accent buttons on the shoulders from Ross!

*side note* I 100% recommend you purchasing a few of these dressy colored blouses! Check your Ross every week when they rotate inventory (ask your store manager what day of the week that is) to find these hidden gems! You can find them as low as $4-5 each!

Such great staples in my wardrobe!

Now back to the skirt! You girls are in luck the skirts at Jupe de Abby are for the most part under $30 and they’re having a fall sale on their site!! πŸ™ŒπŸ» just use the code: Sept15 for even MORE savings! ❀️

“Leopard is a Neutral”

I love the color combo of mint/teal and leopard! I wore my white flower statement necklace from Walmart (who knew Walmart could have such cute necklaces!) and my Justfab Cognac Wedges!

You’ll probably be seeing this skirt on replay in the coming weeks because it is so versatile and goes with everything!

Well that wraps up today’s post!

Have a great weekend and I’ll chat with you next time!

God Bless,

Ashley❀️

DIY Disney Princess Nail ArtπŸ’•πŸ‘‘+ Outfits!

Hello Everyone!
Today’s post is uber exciting because it’s all about Disney princesses!πŸ‘‘πŸ˜β€οΈ
I’ll be showing you two different nail art designs inspired by Disney Princesses! πŸ‘‘
Let’s get Started!!πŸ’•

IMG_3232.JPG
My first nail tutorial is actually fool proof and anyone yes Anyone can do it!
For one of my Disney princess photoshoots I wanted to dress up my nails to go along with my outfit!
IMG_3507.JPG
I found this adorable shop on Etsy called Nana’s Imagination ! πŸ‘‘ I immediately fell in major love with these Disney princess Nail decals!!😍😍😍
The shipping was phenomenal she shipped within the hour !😳
When they arrived I immediately grabbed all my nail supplies and got to “work”.LOL

You will need:
~White Nail polish (love love this White out one from Rue 21!)
~ Top Coat
~ Cup of Water
~ Cooking Spray (optional)

IMG_3500-0.JPG
1. First you want to paint two coats of your opaque white nail polish! Immediately spritz your wet nails with the cooking spray. This is optional but for the most impatient girl on the planet (me😜) it’s a must! Literally your nails will be smooth and dry to the touch within a minute if not less! It’s a lifesaver!

IMG_3502.JPG

IMG_3502-0.JPG
2. Next you want to take a paper towel and remove the excess oil from your nails and dry them off a bit.
Get a glass of water ready and dip your nail decals in the water face down! Make sure to cut as close to the princess image as possible! (Let your Princesses go for a swim!πŸ‘‘lol)

IMG_3503.JPG
After about 10 seconds or so, you will notice that the nail decal will start peeling away from the cardstock.
I used a toothpick to grab the nail decal and I placed it on my nails one by one!

IMG_3504.JPG
3. Lastly Seal your princesses with a topcoat and you’re done!!
I have to rave about this top coat I found at Dollar Tree! It’s Ahmazing!! Fun fact about me at the age of 14 I used to do acrylic nails as my job back in the day, so I’ve tried out the best nail polishes/topcoats and I’ve got to say that this one from the Dollar Tree is equal if not better to those big name brands! For $1 you can’t beat it!

IMG_3506.JPG
On a side note how cute is cinderella’a glass slipper?!

IMG_3507-0.JPG

Beauty and the Beast Nail Tutorial🌹
For my next nail tutorial will be inspired by my favorite Disney Princess Belle from Beauty and the Beast!😍🌹

IMG_3678.JPG
You will need:
~Yellow Nail Polish
~ Red Acrylic Paint
~Green Acrylic Paint
~ Topcoat
~Gold Glitter (optional)
1. Paint all your nails except your thumb and ring finger a bright yellow.

IMG_3683.JPG
2. Draw the Enchanted Rose!
Take your red and green acrylic paint and make a small swirl in the center of your nail.
You can also use nail polish but I find that paint is thicker and not so runny!

IMG_3704.JPG
3. Make “c’s ” all round your center swirl as you form your rose! Lastly draw the green stem with a couple of thorns! Seal with topcoat and you’re done! Not bad for someone who is horrible at drawing! LOLπŸ˜…

IMG_3682.JPG
For some added Glam I added glitter to the tips of my nails and of course a matching Belle to go along with it! 🌹

IMG_3680.JPG

IMG_3679.JPG

IMG_3681.JPG
I hope you all enjoyed these nail looks!
Below I have attached some on my Disney Princess Inspired Looks!
Til Next Time,
God Bless!

Coral, Turquoise & Leopard!

Hello there!

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Boy what a rainy week its been! Hopefully these May showers will bring summer already!

IMG_1856

Now I absolutely love the rain and even thunderstorms (the noise of thunderstorms relaxes me) but I am kinda bummed out this week because I had plans for a super fun photo shoot but due to the weather it has been delayed!

So I guess I’ll have to do a casual outfit post today!

Now let’s talk about something that every girl should have in her wardrobe!

LEOPARD PRINT!

IMG_1864

I am a huge believer that leopard is a neutral! I mean the options are endless!

I wanted to make a ”Modest In Leopard Look Book” to show different ways to style a classic leopard print!

IMG_1866-0

For today’s outfit I wanted to keep it simple but still have vibrant spring colors! (Even though its pouring out!)

So I decided on wearing my leopard peplum top I purchased from Poshmark! Out of all the clothes I own, this top is still being worn over and over again! I try not to repeat outfits but this top is just too cute!

IMG_1862

Since we can all agree that leopard is a neutral I decided to wear a coral pencil skirt and a pop of turquoise on my shoes and necklace!

IMG_1860

I can remember seeing this color combo on Pinterest and having an ”A-HA” moment!!

IMG_1863

My skirt was a thrift score find! It was brand new with tags and everything!

I love pencil skirts! They are casual enough to wear everyday but can easily be dressed up with a few accessories!

IMG_1861

IMG_1879-0

Now this wouldn’t be a look book without a couple more outfits right!?

Here’s a roundup of all my modest in leopard looks!

I hope you all enjoy!!

God Bless You!
