Hello?

Processed with Snapseed.

DownEast holds a special place in my heart because they took a chance on me when I first started blogging and gave me that extra boost of encouragement that every blogger needs when they first start out. I am thrilled to see how God has blessed their company and how far they have come!

Reason #2 why I love DownEast is because they started from humble beginnings in my home state, Utah!

P.S. Every skirt girl needs to make a trip down to Utah “aka” modest shopping heaven! 14680509_10154567289693838_6897378747497153496_n.jpg

Their new fall collection has been released and I immediately knew that I wanted this “country chic” cream lace dress! Perfect for fall, spring, summer and even winter!

amberr-55amberr-54

I absolutely love the fit on this dress, the perfect fit and flare! It is very difficult to find fit and flare dresses that actually are long enough (40″length size small)!

Since fall is my utmost favoritest (yes I realize that is not proper English grammar 😉 ), season of all, I had to do a fall themed carnival photoshoot.

It was quite comical pretending to shoot fall outfits when the temperatures were in the 70’s! #californiaweather

Accessories can instantly transition any outfit from season to season, so for that reason I chose my horse bit buckle belt, cognac riding boots, and a vintage inspired bucket style bag!

That lace detailing though!!

Most bloggers hold extravagant floral arrangements, I as a broke college student hold a baby tumbleweed I found on the side of the road 😉 amberr-85amberr-86

Despite the lack of the color green out here, the desert does have a beauty of its own especially those amazing sunsets and sunrises!

Oh! Before I forget in celebration for their 25 year anniversary  DownEast is having a HUGE Anniversary SALE on different items every single day! DON’T MISS OUT! They are already pretty affordable and add a nice 25% OFF on top of that?! Yes please!

As always all the outfit details and links about this blog post will be neatly listed below for your convenience 😀

Modest Church Outfit! How to Style a Tulle Skirt!

Happy Sunday To you all!!!

Boy it was a HOT day here in Utah! I mean wearing a tulle skirt in 90 degree weather was probably not the best idea but I was feeling in high spirits today and wearing bright colors was a must!

IMG_2304

You might recognize this skirt from one of my previous lookbooks, the ”Modest Disney Princess” LookBook !

I only wore it once for the photo shoot but I finally found it again just casually hanging in my closet begging for me to wear it again!

IMG_2301

You might recognize this ”shirt” from one of my previous outfits!

IMG_1955

Lol I wanted to wear a crop striped shirt from Forever 21 that is EXACTLY like this one but it was a long sleeve top and it was much too hot for that!

Here’s a little fashion hack that I always use! Wear your dresses as tops for your high waisted skirts!

Sometimes the perfect top isn’t really a top!

So instead I wore this She Inside pencil dress as my top today since it was short sleeve!

IMG_2300

For my necklace I wanted a chic and polished look so I opted for a gold necklace I purchased from Claire’s!

IMG_2304

Truth be told I woke up this morning with second day Flinstone hair; so up it went! (Gotta love 2 minute hairstyles on a Sunday morning!)

Fashion Inspiration for today’s outfit goes to the fabulous bumble bees!

Well that wraps up today’s church #ootd ! I hope you all have a short Monday tomorrow!

XOXO,

Ashley

Polka Dots and Denim! Featuring Shabby Apple!

Happy Sunday Everyone!!!

It was such a gorgeous day here in Utah, it was bright and sunny but a bit chilly! (Deceiving weather really!)

Remember that mystery item I was telling you all that I was going to pick up?!

Um…well here it is!

IMG_2212

MY DREAM SKIRT!! AAH! Ladies I cannot tell you how long this skirt has been on my wishlist!

#skirtgoals

In addition to this skirt I got more Shabby Apple goodies I cannot wait to share with you!

Okay this skirt is probably in my top 3 most loved skirts I own!

IMG_2215

I remember seeing this skirt all over Pinterest and thinking to myself, ” I will have that skirt in my closet!”

That’s one thing about me, when I want something, you better believe I am going to get it! LOL Whether I have to go to the ends of the world and back, I always try and make it work! Even when I was little I have been this way!

hahaha a quick little story that comes to mind is that when I was in kindergarten I wanted to buy everyone gifts for Christmas and I was not willing to buy them with my parent’s money (I mean it’s not a gift if they end up buying it right?..)

So I came up with a fabulous idea of drawing kitty cat drawings and selling them for a profit. (Yes, I til this day say kitty cat don’t judge lol)

I went around school selling these cat drawings for $1 each and was able to buy my parents and brother gifts, weeks before Christmas! I still remember how shocked my parents were in finding out that I had sold cat drawings to buy gifts for them! LOL

IMG_2217

I totally recommend this skirt for numerous reasons!

1. To feel like a Princess

2. The material is such nice quality!

3. To feel like a Princess

and

4. To feel like a Princess

I feel like that sums it all up!

IMG_2214

While this skirt is pretty awesome in itself finding a top to go along with it was a challenge!

I tried countless number of tops with this skirt! I mean I went through my entire closet and they just didn’t see right!

So I put to practice my famous last words;…”When in doubt; Wear CHAMBRAY!”

Yes chambray is always the answer!

IMG_2222

IMG_2219

IMG_2223

This skirt is actually very fluffy and poofy all on its own but I wanted even MORE poof to the skirt so I added a tulle skirt underneath to give it some more lift!

IMG_2227

IMG_2226

For my accessories I wanted it to be very glamorous so I added my Crystal Cluster Necklace and some vintage crystal earrings!

IMG_2229

IMG_2224

I couldn’t help but twirl and spin around in my Waltzing Matilda Skirt!!

Way to go Shabby Apple! You definitely won me over with this cute little number!

I hope you all have a fabulous week and I am excited to chat with you gorgeous gals again!

XOXO,

Ashley

DIY Mason Jar Fall Decor

Happy Saturday Everyone!
I was feeling a bit crafty this past week and am so excited to share a pretty easy DIY fall decor!
I am obsessed with mason jars lately! They’re so cute and easy to craft with!
I originally went on Pinterest and was looking for fall decor and I stumbled across mason jars used as vases!
I must admit I am not a huge fan of fall decor in general since the colors are very neutral with no glam or shine to it at all! But I thought that I could “glam” up these shabby mason jars just a smidge.
So I went to my local Michaels and grabbed all the supplies needed.

For this craft you will need:
-Chalk Paint in white
-4 Mason Jars
-Foam Brushes (they’re only 50 cents each)
-Stencils ( optional )
-Flowers in pretty fall colors
-Twine
-Craft Paint in Gold/Copper
IMG_7140.JPG

First off you will need to paint the first coat of chalk paint onto the mason jars. This paint is so amazing! It dries so quickly like within 5 minutes it’s completely dry. First coat done!

IMG_7148.JPG

Apply a second coat and allow it to completely dry as we will be using stencils next!

IMG_7151.JPG

Next you want to take your stencils and tape them on real good! (You don’t want to paint outside the lines.)

IMG_7167.JPG
I painted the font with gold craft paint but as I finished my mason jars I thought it needed a bit more sparkle and shine to them! (I know I know I can’t help myself )
So after the paint dried I added white craft glue on the letters and sprinkled gold glitter on them! Okay now we’re talking! I absolutely loooved how they turned out! So glam and chic!

IMG_7217.JPG

Now let’s talk about the cost
The chalk paint was the most expensive at $8.00 but I still have a lot left for future projects!
Michael’s can get really pricey really fast but what I suggest is that you use coupons.
I used my SnipSnap app which is the most awesome app ever! It’s pretty much mobile coupons right off your phone!
The Stencils I used were from Martha Stewart and were originally $7.00 but with the snip snap app I found a coupon for 50% off of one full priced item which brought it down to only $3.50! That’s more like it!

I hope you enjoyed this craft as much as I did making it!
