Happy Holidays Featuring NEW PhotoScan App By Google Photos! ModestlyHot Throwback Photos!

Happy Holidays Guys!!

There are two kinds of people in this world:

  1. Those who listen to Christmas music right at the beginning of October (or sooner lol)
  2. And those who just HAVE to wait until after Thanksgiving

……Aaand then theres me who refuses to comply with the norm and listens to Christmas music year round #sorrynotsorry

Needless to say, Thanksgiving break was a much needed time of rest. Even though I was not able to spend Thanksgiving with my family this year; I was grateful to spend Thanksgiving in a church member’s home and had a blast! (Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Hernandez!)

I was still missing my family over the break, but looking at our old photos of past holidays (and a lot of phone calls) really helped me stay connected with them over the holiday break.

Now if you are anything like my family; you probably have that infamous box of old photo prints stashed in a box somewhere in the creepy attic/basement that no one dares to go in because of the hassle. (or in my case the fear of the creepy, icky spiders one might find up there!)  😦

Regardless, it is a sad thing that we do not look at these *priceless gems* more often mainly because all the photographs we have are saved instantly on our mobile devices.

img_7553

Well that is no longer the case because Google Photos has created a tool, a brand-new app called PhotoScan which allows us to bring these forgotten pictures back to life in very high quality, no glare photographs! Mind you, it is not just a”picture of a picture” cause we are all guilty of doing that, but instead it uses your cell-phone’s built in technology as an image scanner.

img_7556

All you do is simply touch the four corners of the photograph print you want to save and within seconds you have your timeless photo saved as a digital, high resolution image on your phone FOREVER!

img_7554

The possibilities are endless!

Bad hair day pictures?

Chubby baby pictures?

“Seeing what your parents really looked like before they had you” pictures?

And of course the classic “what was I thinking?!” pictures! (Now those are fun! 😉

Imagine having all those memories readily available on your phone to share with the world because why not?! Everyone needs a laugh or two at some good ol’ throwback pics 😉

So with the help of Google Photo Scan here are my throwback holiday pics that I’m probably going to regret posting but YOLO er something like that 😛

The ULTIMATE Modest Holiday LookBook Part 1!

Hello and Happy Sunday Lovelies!!

Boy what a month it has been! I feel like I have so much to catch up with you guys!

Thank you so much for checking up on me after 2 weeks of not posting outfits! You all are so sweet! This month has been full of finals, sickness, flights and going back home for Christmas Break with my family!

Thankfully I am feeling so much better and ready to kill these blog posts! LOL

I am so excited to be back home for the holidays! Don’t get me wrong California is beautiful and all, but it just didn’t feel like Christmas without Utah snow!!

Here are some random snapshots of what’s been going on within the past 3 weeks! Enjoy!

Black Friday Shopping with my girls! It was so fun shopping at 1am! It’s the first time I have stepped foot in a Papaya store and I am obsessed! The deals were amazing at Forever 21! Hello 50% OFF Clearance! It was really awesome meeting two of my followers at the Windsor store! Thank you for totally making my night!

IMG_6345 It’s Christmas Time at Lancaster Baptist Church! It was so much fun inviting people to the Christmas Music Special! The orchestra did an awesome job with all the arrangements! It was a great night of worship and sharing the real reason of the season which is the great story of Jesus Christ!

IMG_6563

Christmas on campus! After a week of intense studying for finals it was awesome to just wind down and enjoy the tree lighting, Christmas crafts, gingerbread house making, and dinner served by our teachers! (So Sweet!)

(Yay for my house not collapsing! LOL)

IMG_6350Monday rolls around and it’s time to pack up for Christmas Break!!! EEK!!

Okay quick confession I actually had already been packed up and ready to go a week before! hahaha!  Needless to say I was excited to go back home for the holidays! Again I love West Coast Baptist College but after finals and just being sick for the longest time I was ready to check out and go home!

Finally at the airport and look what I found! A makeup vending machine! So Cute!! Who agrees that there must be more of these?!

IMG_6376

LA from above! Probably the best part of my flight was when I was half asleep and I heard the pilot announce ”Welcome to Salt Lake City Utah!” I immediately woke up and started getting exciting because I could recognize many familiar landmarks from above!

IMG_6386

And then I arrive to a Winter Wonderland!! #Utah

Well after all those snapshots let’s get on with this Holiday Lookbook! Let me warn you it will probably be one of the biggest lookbooks I’ve ever done! I just ADORE everything about Christmas and just the entire month of December really! Jesus, lights, family, feasts, snow, and of course all the GLAMOROUS outfits one gets to rock and get away with only this time of year!

(Of course if you think like me; that there needs to be no reason to go all out! Who says you can only rock sequins in the Holiday season??)

Without further ado let’s get on with The ULTIMATE Modest Holiday Lookbook! Part 1!

Blanket Scarf, Plaid & Cozy Sweaters Featuring @NormonyDesign Custom Made Skirts!

I have been wanting a plaid midi skirt for this holiday season and this sweet lady on Instagram makes custom skirts and she made me the perfect warm and cozy plaid midi skirt! I love how she personalized my package when it came and how it fits like a glove! It’s the perfect skirt for a cold snowy day!

IMG_6388IMG_6447IMG_6439IMG_6436IMG_6422IMG_6420IMG_6433IMG_6445IMG_6448

Buffalo Plaid Pencil Skirts, Leather Peplums & Gold Bow Belts Featuring Willow Blaire Boutique!

My mission this holiday season was to find buffalo plaid clothing at an affordable price!! This buffalo plaid skirt is actually on sale now at Willow Blaire’s Boutique’s Website for just $19.95! Super warm and comfy! Perfect for those holiday feasts! LOL

I decided to pair up my buffalo plaid pencil skirt with my leather peplum from Forever 21! I scored this top on Black Friday for just $3 when it’s original retail price was $30!! SCORE! I added my fav gold bow belt from Two 12 Fashion! I totally recommend you guys to check their site out! They have the best belts ever!

Lastly I added some thick knit black tights and a pair of quilted booties from ShoeDazzle!

IMG_6468

IMG_6038

Gold polkadot packaging?! and totally personalized too! Gotta love that!

Gold Holiday Sequin Maxi Dress! Featuring Neesees Dresses!

Sparkle? Check! Comfy? Check! Modest? Check!

I always love to give quality modest boutiques shoutouts and Neesees Dresses carry trendy and modest clothing!! Totally go ahead and take a look at their stuff!

IMG_6562-0IMG_6536IMG_6537IMG_6538

Black Sequin Maxi Skirt & Buffalo Plaid Shirt! Featuring Windsor Store!

EEK! This skirt though! I actually bought it last holiday season from the Windsor Store website but I unfortunately got sick and could not even get up from bed :/ (What is up with me getting sick around the holidays?!lol)

I was so excited to wear this skirt but i must admit it was a challenge trying to style this many sequins in one skirt! So I decided to tone it down with a classic plaid shirt from Walmart!

Navy, Golds and Midi Skirts! Featuring The Klassy Girl Boutique!

Oh you guys I cannot express my love for this skirt!!! It is just fit for a Princess that will make you feel like royalty! LOL The golds, navy and stripes just get me every time! C L A S S Y! Gold, Black, Sequins & Polkadots! Featuring T AND J Designs!

Gold, polkadots, and sequins?!! I don’t know about you but that’s a keeper in my book! 😉 I am OBSESSED with this T AND J Designs exclusive design!

One of the things I love the most about this skirt is that it stretches in the waistline which may come in handy for those Mexican holidays feasts! LOL I wore a red long sleeved blouse from Ross that I purchased today for a festive look! I believe I say this quite often but really invest in those staple solid colored blouses! They’re very versatile because they’re solids yet they dress up an outfit than just a regular colored t-shirt! I always check my Ross every Wednesday (because that is when they have their inventory turnover) for these solid colored gems!

Oh!! I almost forgot to mention that T AND J Designs is having a 30% OFF Holiday Sale using the code: HOLIDAY30 at checkout!

💙Disney Fashion Week: Featuring Cinderella! 💙

Happy Friday Eve Everyone!!

Disney Week continues!! And I’m beyond excited to share with you the next Princess on my to do list!

IMG_3235-0

Drumroll please……🎶
IMG_3326-0.JPG

IMG_3344-0.JPG

IMG_3354-0.JPG
Yay!! Cinderella!! I adore Cinderella!!😍😍💙😍😍😍💙
But before I could do Cinderella I needed some of her signature pieces!
So I’ll show you how easy it is to DIY Cinderella Shoes and Her Black Necklace!
For the Cinderella shoes you will need:
Modpodge (Shiny kind)
Silver Glitter
Foam Brush
Jewels
Hot Glue
Baby Blue Paint (optional )
Black Vinyl (optional)
Old Pair of Heels!

IMG_3031-0.JPG
Step 1:
Prep your Shoes
Make sure you clean them real good so the paint will adhere better!

Step 2:
Apply one coat of Modpodge and sprinkle silver glitter all over the heels!
*A tray underneath is very helpful in not wasting any glitter!✨
Repeat this step once more until it has the coverage you desire! I did three coats!

IMG_3034-0.JPG

IMG_3033-0.JPG

IMG_3037-0.JPG
Step 3:
Seal the Glitter!
Unless you want to leave a trail of glitter everywhere you go, you might want to seal in all the fabulousness✨
It dries in about 2 hours or preferably overnight and will be completely sealed!

IMG_3039-0.JPG

IMG_3038-0.JPG
Step 4:
Decorate!!
Now comes the super fun part; decorating the shoes!!
Let your imagination run glam! (Cause I like glam more than wild lol)
I added some clear Crystal jewels from a broken necklace I had kept!

IMG_3042-0.JPG
Now these next steps are optional but I really wanted a Cinderella shoe!!
So I bought baby blue paint and painted the soles that color!
I also added the classic Disney logo with vinyl I had lying around the house! (Actually that’s a lie, I found the vinyl Inside my dad’s garage! Oops Thanks dad!!) He’s probably going to be confused why there’s a hole missing of material in the shape of Mickey mouse ears! LOL

I traced it out using a template I found online and voila instant shoe decal!!

IMG_3219.JPG

IMG_3220-0.JPG

IMG_3227-0.JPG

IMG_3350-0.JPG

IMG_3348-0.JPG

IMG_3349-0.JPG
Now I believe that the entire essence of Cinderella lies in her necklace!
So getting that detail right was a must!
It was actually quite simple to make it! I purchased black satin ribbon from Walmart folded it in half and sewed a hook and latch on the back of the neck!

IMG_3223-0.JPG

IMG_3337-0.JPG

IMG_3344-1.JPG
Now that all the accessories are done let’s get on with the outfit!💙
You guys this dress!!💙💙💙💙 From the moment I saw it I knew it was just right for Cinderella!!
I bought it off Etsy from a sweet lady that sells Authentic Vintage Clothing!
I am so excited to own this dress because it feels so awesome to know that another girl wore this in the 50’s!!
Back in the day it was actually made for Prom! LOL
And now it’s a cinderella dress! 😍✨

Dorothy Wizard of Oz Inspired Outfit! Featuring Shabby Apple!

”We’re Off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz!”

Now that I got that off my chest (and stuck in your head ) let’s begin with today’s outfit!

I’ve always been a bit of a nerd when it comes to cosplaying! Now I am aware my version of cosplaying isn’t as extreme as others but just enough to get recognized as my desired characters!

IMG_2368

IMG_2385

Now Dorothy has always been on my ”To-Do” Outfit list for several reasons!

1.You get to carry around a cute little basket

2. Her red lipstick and makeup!

3. Baby Blue with Red Glitter Slippers!

IMG_2363

All I am missing is my Toto!!! Funny story I was at Zurchers shopping for a birthday party and I saw the cutest mini basket with Toto prop!! UGH I should have bought it but I didn’t think I would actually use it again!

IMG_2361

Initially this outfit was inspired by the name of my skirt, the ”Dorothy Skirt” from Shabby Apple! I have seen this skirt all over Pinterest and I knew I just HAD to have it!!

IMG_2386

IMG_2364

As I took it home I was pondering long and hard of what to pair up this beautiful polka dot skirt with! (I was having fashion blogger’s block lol) I read the label on the skirt and AHA! the light bulb came onas I knew I was going to be Dorothy!

IMG_2365

The top had to be white to make the white polka dots in the skirt pop! But I wanted to go for a glam version of Dorothy so I decided on wearing a white sequin top instead of a plain tee!

(Sequins and polka dots? Um yes please!)

I actually had my eyes on these GORGEOUS sequin tops around Christmas time but I wasn’t going to pay $20 each for all three! I waited and waited til I scored all three tops for just $15!

IMG_0894

IMG_0896

IMG_2372

IMG_2369

IMG_2370

IMG_2371

Dorothy is known for her adorable pigtails but I for sure cannot rock them as well as she did!

So I went for a vintage half up half down hairstyle with a poof an a bow in the back!

(thank goodness for Pinterest Tutorials!)

Disney Fashion Series! Featuring Mickey Mouse Inspired Fashion!!

Hello and Happy Friday!!

Oh my word I am SOOOO excited for this series!! I mean Disney and Fashion are just meant to be together!! This week’s Disney Inspired Outfit was totally based on Mickey Mouse!!

IMG_2336

I looked at my closet and knew I already had all the items for a Mickey Mouse Look!

IMG_2335

As usual I laid out my outfits whether on computer or on my floor!

Pretty easy peasy!

Mickey’s color scheme is very simple; Black, white, red and yellow! With a few key color pieces I knew I could channel Mickey!

IMG_2326

IMG_2330

I wore my sheer black polka dot shirt from H&M to tie in the polkadots on my skirt! I love the sweetheart neckline it has!

IMG_2333

For my skirt i wore a black on white polkadot skirt that I got from TaraLynn’s boutique!

The material is very thick & sturdy! This skirt could be worn with so many different tops to change the look!

IMG_2327

IMG_2331

For le hair I decided on putting it up into a sock bun! I have been sporting this hair do for weeks now mainly due to the lack of time but I always get compliments on it! (I’m pretty obsessed with it!) *Pro Tip:* Only do a sock bun when you have second day hair! I had the hardest time keeping my hair up in that perfect bun when my hair was freshly washed because it would slip out of the donut!

IMG_2323

IMG_2334

IMG_2339

Well that wraps up today’s post! I hope you all try this fun look out!! Its was so easy and you probably have the items already in your closet!!

Til Next Time!

XOXO,

Ashley

Modest Church Outfit! How to Style a Tulle Skirt!

Happy Sunday To you all!!!

Boy it was a HOT day here in Utah! I mean wearing a tulle skirt in 90 degree weather was probably not the best idea but I was feeling in high spirits today and wearing bright colors was a must!

IMG_2304

You might recognize this skirt from one of my previous lookbooks, the ”Modest Disney Princess” LookBook !

I only wore it once for the photo shoot but I finally found it again just casually hanging in my closet begging for me to wear it again!

IMG_2301

You might recognize this ”shirt” from one of my previous outfits!

IMG_1955

Lol I wanted to wear a crop striped shirt from Forever 21 that is EXACTLY like this one but it was a long sleeve top and it was much too hot for that!

Here’s a little fashion hack that I always use! Wear your dresses as tops for your high waisted skirts!

Sometimes the perfect top isn’t really a top!

So instead I wore this She Inside pencil dress as my top today since it was short sleeve!

IMG_2300

For my necklace I wanted a chic and polished look so I opted for a gold necklace I purchased from Claire’s!

IMG_2304

Truth be told I woke up this morning with second day Flinstone hair; so up it went! (Gotta love 2 minute hairstyles on a Sunday morning!)

IMG_2303

Fashion Inspiration for today’s outfit goes to the fabulous bumble bees!

IMG_2299

Well that wraps up today’s church #ootd ! I hope you all have a short Monday tomorrow!

Til Next Time

XOXO,

Ashley

Outfit Details:

Yellow Tulle Skirt: Windsorstore

Striped Pencil dress (Used for today’s shirt): She Inside

Black Bow Heels: GoJane

Modest Summer Nautical Outfit! Featuring Debbie’s Closet +GIVEAWAY!!

Happy Friday Everyone!!

Boy what a week!! I mean I am physically exhausted yet ready to roll for next week!

It has been raining the past few weeks here in Utah but today it finally feels like summer!

I am SO excited for summer because I can finally wear my stash of nautical themed clothing again!!!

IMG_2259

This shirt is EVERYTHING! It is a new purchase and I’ve already worn it in 4 outfits! (Different places of course lol)

Since it was very hot out, I did a very high sock bun with my bangs framing my face.

I’ve been wearing my hair in an updo because truth be told, I have not had any time to curl/straighten it at all this week!

It used to take me FOREVER to get this updo to look just right, sometimes it would be to loose or too tight or lopsided!

Turns out that I bought a new sock bun from Claire’s for about $5 which is more than what I paid for my first sock bun (only paid like a buck for the first one ) but it looked like it would hold way more hair!

I totally recommend the sock bun from Claire’s!!! It really made a difference and I can get this hair style done in less than 2 minutes!

IMG_2258

So let’s talk about this skirt!! It’s AMAZING!!!

IMG_2251

IMG_2255

From the first minute I tried it on I knew that this would be my go to skirt for my ”lazy days!”

It’s like this cool scuba material that just holds you all in! They literally feel like pajamas and they’re modest which is always a plus!!

I decided to pair this skirt up with my red bow heels to add a pop of color! I will be forever in love with the color combination of red, navy and white!

I wanted to share this skirt with three of you girlies so let’s have a quick giveaway shall we?!!

There will be 3 winners!!

Here’s how to Enter:

1. Follow ModestlyHot Blog (Follow Button is on the right side of the page!)

2.Follow Debbie’s Closet on Instagram: @Debbiescloset

And that’s it!!!

Winners will be announced on Sunday!!

IMG_2250

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! and GOOD LUCK!

Til Next Time,

XOXO,

Ashley
