Modest Gold Sequin Maxi Skirt Featuring Headbands of Hope!

Happy Sunday Everyone!!

Today’s outfit is all about Fashion with a Purpose!

img_4996

Headbands of Hope and I have teamed up to not only promote these super cute handmade headbands, but also with every headband that is purchased, one is given to a child with cancer! How awesome is that?!

Around the same time Headbands of hope contacted me, a local Salt Lake City volunteer group invited me to attend and participate in a bike parade and 5k for a sweet little girl named Ruby, who was born with a large mass on the back of her head that resembled a tumor.

During a routine MRI scan this spring, a technician inadvertently captured the top of Ruby’s lungs in the image. A CT scan soon followed and it was discovered that Ruby’s lungs were full of tumors. She was given the diagnosis of Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma.

After hearing what Ruby and her family were going through, the community decided to round all their resources together to organize a bike parade and 5K run to raise proceeds for the Thackeray family.

The turn out was unbelievable! Many well known Utah shops donated 5 table full of merchandise and gift baskets ready for the Silent Auction!

There were so many good things to bid on! ( a dozen full of tamales were among the items lol)

Being a kids bike parade I dressed up as Snow White! ( because what little girl doesn’t like Disney?!)

For the Headbands of Hope photoshoot I decided on wearing this gorgeous gold plate headdress that has a diamond chain draped on the outside! A floor length sequin maxi skirt with my “Walking with Purpose” tee seemed to match the mission of Headbands of Hope perfectly!

I would totally check out their website and pick out headband and become a headband hero to a little girl battling cancer! It’s amazing to see what an impact a small decorative headband can have on a girl’s self esteem! >>>>Check out the Giving Gallery HERE!<<<

Modest in Red, White & Blue! 4th of July Outfits Look Book!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

I wrote it all in caps so you could feel the excitement I have !!

I am so excited for tomorrow because its one of my favorite holidays ever!!! 4th of July of course!!

IMG_2979

I believe out of all colors I have the most of is red, white and navy blue!

Its such a classic, timeless color combination that will always look refined and classy!

Another thing that most of you have noticed is that I LOVE ANCHORS!!!

AAAH!

So let’s get on to the lookbook!

For look #1 I paired up my classic chambray denim shirt with my new current favorite anchor print skater skirt!!

A sweet lady on Instagram actually makes these fun skirts!!

IMG_2948

IMG_2951

For my shoes I didn’t want to pair up this look with the obvious color red, but i wanted to do some pattern mixing!

So navy and white striped flats it was! I got these adorable striped flats from Jane.com! I got them for a steal of just $6!!

IMG_3009

Now onto the next look! I was out on a photoshoot with my lovely friend Mildred at City Creek (we got sidetracked by cute clothes lol)  and saw that The Limited was having a clearance sale on most of their pencil skirts! i immediately grabbed this gorgeous red and navy lace pencil skirt and it was a perfect fit! I wore my chambray shirt once again and some classy nude Louboutins.

IMG_2954

IMG_2952

This is a great look for the office while still being patriotic and festive!

IMG_2957

For my last look I wore my chevron midi skirt paired up with my .. yep you guessed it! My Anchor top!

LOL! This top I just HAD to get even though I probably had a similar one purchased last year from Rue!

But come on now, does this not resemble J.Crew?! and for just $7!

IMG_2983

IMG_2975

IMG_2976

I love how this outfit just works despite being very different patterns!

I kept my shoes neutral since there was alot going on!

IMG_2978

Look #4 or is it look #3?! I forget and am too lazy to scroll back up to check lol!

I think this is my most repeated outfit that I have yet to photograph til today! LOL

I would always wear this same exact outfit and somehow something would always pop up that I couldn’t get a picture posted!!

I love this skirt i bought from Downeast Basics! The Picnic Skirt was the cutest skirt I have ever seen!

IMG_2986

There’s nothing more American than a classic Coke!

IMG_2995

Random fact of the day: Even though I was dying to chug down this delicious coke (plus it was really hot out) I can’t drink soda since the carbonation makes me ill. But on the bright side it makes an adorable prop!

IMG_2990

IMG_2987

IMG_2997

I once again tied up my chambray shirt to give it a fun vibe!

IMG_2991

Well I hope you didn’t mind the extremely long post!

Have a safe and Happy Fourth of July!!!

God Bless You!

XOXO,

Ashley

Modest Church Outfit! How to Style a Tulle Skirt!

Happy Sunday To you all!!!

Boy it was a HOT day here in Utah! I mean wearing a tulle skirt in 90 degree weather was probably not the best idea but I was feeling in high spirits today and wearing bright colors was a must!

IMG_2304

You might recognize this skirt from one of my previous lookbooks, the ”Modest Disney Princess” LookBook !

I only wore it once for the photo shoot but I finally found it again just casually hanging in my closet begging for me to wear it again!

IMG_2301

You might recognize this ”shirt” from one of my previous outfits!

IMG_1955

Lol I wanted to wear a crop striped shirt from Forever 21 that is EXACTLY like this one but it was a long sleeve top and it was much too hot for that!

Here’s a little fashion hack that I always use! Wear your dresses as tops for your high waisted skirts!

Sometimes the perfect top isn’t really a top!

So instead I wore this She Inside pencil dress as my top today since it was short sleeve!

IMG_2300

For my necklace I wanted a chic and polished look so I opted for a gold necklace I purchased from Claire’s!

IMG_2304

Truth be told I woke up this morning with second day Flinstone hair; so up it went! (Gotta love 2 minute hairstyles on a Sunday morning!)

IMG_2303

Fashion Inspiration for today’s outfit goes to the fabulous bumble bees!

IMG_2299

Well that wraps up today’s church #ootd ! I hope you all have a short Monday tomorrow!

Til Next Time

XOXO,

Ashley

Modest Summer Nautical Outfit! Featuring Debbie’s Closet +GIVEAWAY!!

Happy Friday Everyone!!

Boy what a week!! I mean I am physically exhausted yet ready to roll for next week!

It has been raining the past few weeks here in Utah but today it finally feels like summer!

I am SO excited for summer because I can finally wear my stash of nautical themed clothing again!!!

IMG_2259

This shirt is EVERYTHING! It is a new purchase and I’ve already worn it in 4 outfits! (Different places of course lol)

Since it was very hot out, I did a very high sock bun with my bangs framing my face.

I’ve been wearing my hair in an updo because truth be told, I have not had any time to curl/straighten it at all this week!

It used to take me FOREVER to get this updo to look just right, sometimes it would be to loose or too tight or lopsided!

Turns out that I bought a new sock bun from Claire’s for about $5 which is more than what I paid for my first sock bun (only paid like a buck for the first one ) but it looked like it would hold way more hair!

I totally recommend the sock bun from Claire’s!!! It really made a difference and I can get this hair style done in less than 2 minutes!

IMG_2258

So let’s talk about this skirt!! It’s AMAZING!!!

IMG_2251

IMG_2255

From the first minute I tried it on I knew that this would be my go to skirt for my ”lazy days!”

It’s like this cool scuba material that just holds you all in! They literally feel like pajamas and they’re modest which is always a plus!!

I decided to pair this skirt up with my red bow heels to add a pop of color! I will be forever in love with the color combination of red, navy and white!

I wanted to share this skirt with three of you girlies so let’s have a quick giveaway shall we?!!

$20 Modest Outfit Challenge!!

Happy Mid Week Everyone!!!

You’re almost there you guys!! The weekend is coming I promise!!

So while we wait for the weekend…..

I am so excited to announce a new blog series (Drum roll please!)

The $20 Modest Outfit Challenge!!

IMG_2111

That’s right! Every Wednesday a modest fashion blogger will put her money saving savvy skills to the ultimate test!!

I did this challenge a long time ago and decided to repeat it again just because it’s so much fun!!

I love shopping the clearance rack and using as many coupons as the cashier will let me scan lol! (PRO TIP: Make friends with your cashier you never know when they’ll scan their 40% OFF employee discount just for you!)

I was encouraged to do this challenge because I want to let girls know that:

A: You can shop at regular chain stores and still find modest clothing or make them work!

and

B: Dressing modestly does not have to break the bank!

So without further ado, here is one of my outfits for under $20!

Here are the rules if you’d wish to follow along!!

~Your Outfit has to be under or $20

~ Shoes are not included but can be if you’re a pro like that!

So of course when you hear affordable clothing you think of shopping at ROSS!

It’s just the natural thing to do!

I not only found one outfit but 3!!

I found this GORGEOUS floral skater dress at the Juniors section and INSTANTLY fell in love!! So on trend for summer and it looks very chic with the right accessories!

IMG_2109

These dresses do run very small! I had to size up all the way up to a size Large!

I decided to pair up this floral dress with the rich tones of cognac! I LOVE cognac! It’s so shabby chic!

I scored this dress for just $9.99!! Major score!

IMG_2108

Now this dress hit exactly at my knee which was great when I am standing up but for modesty reasons I added a lace skirt extender! Plus I love the touch of lace paired up with the floral print!

IMG_2105

This dress is already so colorful and amazing! So a white necklace seemed appropriate!

I got this necklace at a Utah Fashion Expo Event for just $3!!

IMG_2106                           I love how comfortable this dress is!! The fabric is so stretchy! Definitely going to be my ”All You Can Eat Buffet” Dress! LOL!

IMG_2110

Alright so here’s the breakdown!

Floral Skater Dress: $9.99 but $10.68 w/tax

White Teardrop Necklace : $3

Cognac Belt: $3

GRAND TOTAL: $16.68!!

I hope you follow along this challenge and tag me on Instagram if you do!!

Can’t wait to see them!!

Ashley
