Happy Holidays Featuring NEW PhotoScan App By Google Photos! ModestlyHot Throwback Photos!

Happy Holidays Guys!!

There are two kinds of people in this world:

  1. Those who listen to Christmas music right at the beginning of October (or sooner lol)
  2. And those who just HAVE to wait until after Thanksgiving

……Aaand then theres me who refuses to comply with the norm and listens to Christmas music year round #sorrynotsorry

Needless to say, Thanksgiving break was a much needed time of rest. Even though I was not able to spend Thanksgiving with my family this year; I was grateful to spend Thanksgiving in a church member’s home and had a blast! (Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Hernandez!)

I was still missing my family over the break, but looking at our old photos of past holidays (and a lot of phone calls) really helped me stay connected with them over the holiday break.

Now if you are anything like my family; you probably have that infamous box of old photo prints stashed in a box somewhere in the creepy attic/basement that no one dares to go in because of the hassle. (or in my case the fear of the creepy, icky spiders one might find up there!) ¬†ūüė¶

Regardless, it is a sad thing that we do not look at these *priceless gems* more often mainly because all the photographs we have are saved instantly on our mobile devices.

img_7553

Well that is no longer the case because Google Photos has created a tool, a brand-new app called¬†PhotoScan¬†which allows us to bring these forgotten pictures back to life in very high quality, no glare photographs! Mind you, it is not just a”picture of a picture” cause we are all guilty of doing that, but instead it uses your cell-phone’s built in technology as an image scanner.

img_7556

All you do is simply touch the four corners of the photograph print you want to save and within seconds you have your timeless photo saved as a digital, high resolution image on your phone FOREVER!

img_7554

The possibilities are endless!

Bad hair day pictures?

Chubby baby pictures?

“Seeing what your parents really looked like before they had you” pictures?

And of course the classic “what was I thinking?!” pictures! (Now those are fun! ūüėČ

Imagine having all those memories readily available on your phone to share with the world because why not?! Everyone needs a laugh or two at some good ol’ throwback pics ūüėČ

So with the help of Google Photo Scan¬†here are my throwback holiday pics that I’m probably going to regret posting but YOLO er something like that ūüėõ

The ULTIMATE Modest Holiday LookBook Part 1!

Hello and Happy Sunday Lovelies!!

Boy what a month it has been! I feel like I have so much to catch up with you guys!

Thank you so much for checking up on me after 2 weeks of not posting outfits! You all are so sweet! This month has been full of finals, sickness, flights and going back home for Christmas Break with my family!

Thankfully I am feeling so much better and ready to kill these blog posts! LOL

I am so excited to be back home for the holidays! Don’t get me wrong California is beautiful and all, but it just didn’t feel like Christmas without Utah snow!!

Here are some random snapshots of what’s been going on within the past 3 weeks! Enjoy!

Black Friday Shopping with my girls! It was so fun shopping at 1am! It’s the first time I have stepped foot in a Papaya store and I am obsessed! The deals were amazing at Forever 21! Hello 50% OFF Clearance! It was really awesome meeting two of my followers at the Windsor store! Thank you for totally making my night!

IMG_6345¬†It’s Christmas Time at Lancaster Baptist Church! It was so much fun inviting people to the Christmas Music Special! The orchestra did an awesome job with all the arrangements! It was a great night of worship and sharing the real reason of the season which is the great story of Jesus Christ!

IMG_6563

Christmas on campus! After a week of intense studying for finals it was awesome to just wind down and enjoy the tree lighting, Christmas crafts, gingerbread house making, and dinner served by our teachers! (So Sweet!)

(Yay for my house not collapsing! LOL)

IMG_6350Monday rolls around and it’s time to pack up for Christmas Break!!! EEK!!

Okay quick confession I actually had already been packed up and ready to go a week before! hahaha!  Needless to say I was excited to go back home for the holidays! Again I love West Coast Baptist College but after finals and just being sick for the longest time I was ready to check out and go home!

Finally at the airport and look what I found! A makeup vending machine! So Cute!! Who agrees that there must be more of these?!

IMG_6376

LA from above! Probably the best part of my flight was when I was half asleep and I heard the pilot announce ”Welcome to Salt Lake City Utah!” I immediately woke up and started getting exciting because I could recognize many familiar landmarks from above!

IMG_6386

And then I arrive to a Winter Wonderland!! #Utah

Gold, polkadots, and sequins?!! I don’t know about you but that’s a keeper in my book! ūüėČ I am OBSESSED with this T AND J Designs exclusive design!¬†

One of the things I love the most about this skirt is that it stretches in the waistline which may come in handy for those Mexican holidays feasts! LOL I wore a red long sleeved blouse from Ross that I purchased today for a festive look! I believe I say this quite often but really invest in those staple solid colored blouses! They’re very versatile because they’re solids yet they dress up an outfit than just a regular colored t-shirt! How To Style A Blanket Scarf! Modest Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas!

Hello Friends!!

Finally the trees decided to change colors and the leaves were looking gorgeous on the ground! My most favoritest (yes that’s a word now) season ever is Fall, and being from Utah I am used to seeing Autumn in full colorful force! I was totally okay with moving to California for Bible College UNTIL my mom told me that there would be no fall over here because there were basically no trees! (just Joshua trees and palm trees oh and can’t forget about those tumbleweeds #desertlife lol)

At that time it was too late to make a U-turn and head back to Utah! No totally kidding! But today to my surprise the few trees that were on campus were turning colors and the leaves were falling! SCORE!

And in time for thanksgiving! I adore this quote ! An attitude of gratefulness is the key to a happy heart! It’s sometimes easy to take things for granted, even the smallest of things, but once I realize that everything I ”own” is not really mine, but they’re daily blessings from God! Something that has helped me daily, is this quote: ”Whatever happens in my life, whether good or bad, I deserve worse.” Its so true!! God has and will always be merciful even when we don’t deserve!

IMG_6256

IMG_6037

I love me a good blanket scarf! They’re warm, soft, and double as a blanket when you need one!

They literally elevate any outfit and turn it into a fall/holiday outfit! Over the past year they’ve become more affordable! I’ve seen them as low as $8 on Jane.com! (LOVE Jane!)

Look #1: Hunter Green Jersey Dress+ Plaid Blanket Scarf

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I received this Hunter Green Jersey dress from my lovely friends at Kingdom & State! It is a winter must-have! I ADORE the fact that it is a structured jersey dress with strong shoulders for a chic, minimalistic look!

On that day I wore this outfit there were freezing winds! (Hello Lancaster!) I was so thankful that this dress was keeping me warm all day! Not only is it warm, but oh so comfy like pajamas! It was the perfect cozy fall outfit!

IMG_6031IMG_6032IMG_6035IMG_6034

Kingdom and State is offering all you guys a 20% OFF their entire website!

Just by using the code ”ASHLEY20” ! I have linked the dress down below!

Look #2: Blanket Scarf as an open cardigan/ shawl!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I have been meaning to try this Pinterest scarf tip ever since I purchased my blanket scarf! It was so simple! All you do is fold the scarf into a triangle and drape it over your shoulders as a cardigan and belt it! So chic and not to mention extremely cozy! As always cognac accessories are my obsession! This dress is perfect for Thanksgiving because it stretches! LOL

Look #3: Cozy Sweaters, Pleated Cognac Skirts & A Blanket Scarf!

The next outfit was probably one of my favorites for fall! It consisted of rich fall colors and mixtures of textures!

I found the most cozy cream colored sweater in non other than the Walmart aisle! I know I was pretty shocked myself! I would definitely check out the clothing section at Walmart! I have found the cutest skirts and plaid shirts for dirt cheap!

The star of this outfit is none other than this stunning cognac colored pleated leather midi skirt!! EEK! You guys I cannot express how happy I was when I received it in the mail! I have been searching for the longest time ever for a cognac colored skirt and the lovely ladies at Blue Rose Apparel were sweet enough to gift it to me! I am always thrilled to discover new modest clothing sites! Especially when the quality is outstanding like this skirt! I am guilty of never wearing an exact outfit twice but I couldn’t help but to wear this outfit again and in the same week at that too! (shhh don’t tell the fashion police!)

IMG_6245IMG_6246IMG_6247IMG_6248IMG_6250IMG_6254IMG_6255

DIY CandyLand TableScape

Happy Friday girlies!!
What a week it has been! From long line waiting to stressful holiday chaos and on top of that being sick! Yeah I think we all need like a 48 hr. nap now.
Anyways this year I decided to decorate the house like the Candy Land board game!

I have an obsession with those clear candy buffet jars! I am absolutely in love how classy and expensive they make candy look!
We have so many of them that I just had to put them to good use this year!

IMG_8764.JPG
I wanted to give the room a fantasy vibe! So I got the inspiration for the lighted curtains from “A Glamour Girl ” IG! Absolutely loved it! Pictures do not do it justice! I found sheer white curtains at Walmart for just $4!

IMG_8772.JPG

IMG_8769.JPG
Now for the table settings what we did was put red plates underneath our gold and white dinnerware with a red glitter snowflake on top! The napkin rings are from Oriental Trading hot glued with a peppermint candy!

IMG_8770.JPG

IMG_8766.JPG
T

IMG_8765.JPG</a
Gotta love the oversized lollipop centerpiece also purchased from Oriental Trading!

IMG_8771.JPG
Also at the doorway I took 4 empty wrapping paper rolls stacked two on top of each other to create two towers. Then I strung red lights around it and totally loved the entrance!

IMG_8767.JPG

IMG_8768.JPG
I also took advantage of a corner in my house that has a dainty window! I turned it into a hot chocolate bar station for the guests! Super fun! I used mason jars with fun paper straws
And hot chocolate packets inside.
It was very fun and stressful to transform the house this year as Candy Land!
Hope you girlies enjoyed it!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Xoxo

DIY Candy Land Christmas Wreath/Using Deco Mesh

Happy Thursday Girlies!!

I’m so excited for today’s tutorial! It was so much fun making this wreath! I went on Pinterest and found a couple of ways to make a wreath out of deco mesh and this was the result!

So just a quick back story, I was at Michael’s and was blown away of how GORGEOUS their wreaths were! And of course I turn over the price tag and find a whopping $90 price tag! YIKES! (Its no longer cute anymore. lol)

So like all my DIY’s come from something being way overpriced! On that note let’s get started!
What you will need:
– White Deco Mesh (Walmart $4.98)

– Red and White Striped Deco Mesh (Walmart $7.98)

-Wreath Frame (Walmart $3.00)

– Pipe Cleaners (Walmart $0.88)

– Random Decorations?Candy Canes,Candies,Ornaments

(Michaels)IMG_8552

6- Hot glue gun

Step 1:

First you are going to tie two pipe cleaners on the inner and outer wires. Keep doing this all around your wreath.

IMG_8589

It should look something like this!

IMG_8554

Next, gather up the deco mesh at the end and bunch it up like so. We will be doing the inner ring first.

IMG_8590-0.JPG
Work your way all around the inner ring and then without cutting the mesh, work your way up to the upper ring.

IMG_8558.JPG

IMG_8559.JPG

IMG_8560.JPG
You can go over the wreath again with the remaining mesh to make it more full or stop at this point.

IMG_8562-0.JPG

IMG_8565.JPG

IMG_8563.JPG

IMG_8564.JPG

IMG_8569.JPG

IMG_8565-0.JPG
Next you want to hide all the pipe cleaners and “fluff” up the mesh however you see fit!
Now comes my favorite part! Decorating!!!
So pretty much I just put two candy canes, little candies , and ornaments all throughout!

IMG_8570.JPG
