Dorothy Wizard of Oz Inspired Outfit! Featuring Shabby Apple!

”We’re Off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz!”

Now that I got that off my chest (and stuck in your head ) let’s begin with today’s outfit!

I’ve always been a bit of a nerd when it comes to cosplaying! Now I am aware my version of cosplaying isn’t as extreme as others but just enough to get recognized as my desired characters!

Now Dorothy has always been on my ”To-Do” Outfit list for several reasons!

1.You get to carry around a cute little basket

2. Her red lipstick and makeup!

3. Baby Blue with Red Glitter Slippers!

All I am missing is my Toto!!! Funny story I was at Zurchers shopping for a birthday party and I saw the cutest mini basket with Toto prop!! UGH I should have bought it but I didn’t think I would actually use it again!

Initially this outfit was inspired by the name of my skirt, the ”Dorothy Skirt” from Shabby Apple! I have seen this skirt all over Pinterest and I knew I just HAD to have it!!

As I took it home I was pondering long and hard of what to pair up this beautiful polka dot skirt with! (I was having fashion blogger’s block lol) I read the label on the skirt and AHA! the light bulb came onas I knew I was going to be Dorothy!

IMG_2365

The top had to be white to make the white polka dots in the skirt pop! But I wanted to go for a glam version of Dorothy so I decided on wearing a white sequin top instead of a plain tee!

(Sequins and polka dots? Um yes please!)

I actually had my eyes on these GORGEOUS sequin tops around Christmas time but I wasn’t going to pay $20 each for all three! I waited and waited til I scored all three tops for just $15!

Dorothy is known for her adorable pigtails but I for sure cannot rock them as well as she did!

So I went for a vintage half up half down hairstyle with a poof an a bow in the back!

(thank goodness for Pinterest Tutorials!)

Modest Church Outfit! How to Style a Tulle Skirt!

Happy Sunday To you all!!!

Boy it was a HOT day here in Utah! I mean wearing a tulle skirt in 90 degree weather was probably not the best idea but I was feeling in high spirits today and wearing bright colors was a must!

IMG_2304

You might recognize this skirt from one of my previous lookbooks, the ”Modest Disney Princess” LookBook !

I only wore it once for the photo shoot but I finally found it again just casually hanging in my closet begging for me to wear it again!

IMG_2301

You might recognize this ”shirt” from one of my previous outfits!

IMG_1955

Lol I wanted to wear a crop striped shirt from Forever 21 that is EXACTLY like this one but it was a long sleeve top and it was much too hot for that!

Here’s a little fashion hack that I always use! Wear your dresses as tops for your high waisted skirts!

Sometimes the perfect top isn’t really a top!

So instead I wore this She Inside pencil dress as my top today since it was short sleeve!

IMG_2300

For my necklace I wanted a chic and polished look so I opted for a gold necklace I purchased from Claire’s!

IMG_2304

Truth be told I woke up this morning with second day Flinstone hair; so up it went! (Gotta love 2 minute hairstyles on a Sunday morning!)

Fashion Inspiration for today’s outfit goes to the fabulous bumble bees!

Well that wraps up today’s church #ootd ! I hope you all have a short Monday tomorrow!

Ashley
